# Social Intelligence

Social Intelligence reads your social posts and matches them to the partnerships they belong to, so you don't have to sort them by hand. It's one of Trak's AI features, and it works on every post a [feed](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/social-feeds?hsLang=en) brings in as well as posts you add by URL.

### What it does

When a post comes in, Social Intelligence:

- Reads the post's media — its image, or a video's thumbnail — along with its text.
- Writes a short plain-language summary of the post.
- Detects the brands and logos that appear in it.
- Suggests the partnerships the post belongs to, each with a confidence score.
- Assigns the post to a partnership automatically when it's confident enough.

You see all of this in the post window: open a post from the **Timeline**, and the **Social Intelligence** section shows the summary, the **Matched Partnerships**, and the **Identified Brands**.

### How it decides which partnership a post belongs to

Social Intelligence matches on evidence that's actually in the post:

- A partner's logo or wordmark visible in the image.
- A partner's product shown in the post.
- A partner named in the post's text.

It only matches against your own partnerships and your active [campaigns](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/create-a-social-campaign?hsLang=en) — it won't invent a partner. It's deliberately cautious: it won't assume a post is about a partner just because of who posted it, which feed it came from, a hashtag, a background color, or generic imagery. It favors being right over catching everything, so a post it isn't sure about is left for you to assign.

#### Your own brand in a partner's post

Social Intelligence never suggests your own organization as a partnership. Instead, when your brand shows up in a partner's post — for example on a [partnership feed](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/social-feeds?hsLang=en) you follow — that's treated as evidence the post belongs to that partner, which is exactly the proof of performance you're looking for.

### What the confidence score means

Each suggested partnership gets a confidence score from **0 to 100**. The score is color-coded so you can scan it quickly:

| Score | Color | What it means |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 80 and above | Green | High confidence |
| 60 to 79 | Yellow | Worth a look |
| Below 60 | Red | Low confidence |

When a suggestion scores high enough — **80 or above by default** — Trak assigns the post to that partnership for you. Anything below that is surfaced as a suggestion so you can decide: open the post and choose **Assign** next to a suggestion to accept it, as described in [Add social posts and assign them to partnerships](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/add-social-posts-and-assign-them-to-partnerships?hsLang=en).

Posts that come in on a partnership feed are a special case. Because the feed itself already tells Trak whose channel it is, every post from a partnership feed is assigned to that partnership regardless of score. See [Social feeds](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/social-feeds?hsLang=en) for owned vs. partnership feeds.

### Re-analyzing a post

If a post's results look off, open it and choose **Re-analyze** in the **Social Intelligence** section. Trak clears the summary, brands, and suggestions and runs the analysis again. Partnerships already assigned to the post are left in place.

### Turning Social Intelligence on

Social Intelligence is managed on the **Admin** area's **Intelligence** page by a **Site Admin**. Because Trak's AI features draw on your workspace's AI credits, Social Intelligence is off until someone turns it on.

To turn it on, a Site Admin opens **Admin**, then **Intelligence**, makes sure Trak AI is enabled for the workspace, and switches on **Social Intelligence**. From that point, new posts are analyzed as they arrive.

Questions about your AI credits or what your plan includes go to your CSM.

### Social Intelligence or a social campaign?

Both match posts to partnerships, but they work differently:

- **Social Intelligence** reads the post's image and text, so it catches a partner even when the post never names them — a visible logo or product is enough. Use it as your default.
- A **social campaign** matches on keywords in the post's text only. Use one to catch posts around a specific hashtag, slogan, or phrase, or to match posts when Social Intelligence isn't turned on.

You can run both. See [Create a social campaign](https://help.trak.io/knowledge-base/create-a-social-campaign?hsLang=en).
